Integrated Program on Design Validation using Hyperworks

Course Code: CAE001

Course Description:

With ever increasing requirements/demands for modern, sophisticated designs for equipment, vehicles, etc. the use of modern computer software tools have increased manifold in the past couple of decades.

The course provides an introduction to Finite Element Modeling and Analysis using Altair’s Hyperworks suite of software products. All important topics are covered in the course, enabling the candidate to have a head start in Computer Aided Engineering (CAE). Hypermesh is a general purpose pre-processing software, used to prepare finite element models for variety of calculation software such as Ansys, Abaqus, Nastran, Ls-Dyna, Pamcrash, Optistruct, etc. Optistruct is the leading analysis software to validate the designs using finite element analysis techniques.

The basic principles of FEM are explained with practical examples and the methods to prepare an FE model are taught in an interactive and effective manner. In addition, the fundamental concepts necessary to be an effective design engineer are taught in a refresher capsule.

During the second part of the program, an internship shall be offered by our industrial partners, with opportunity to work on more complex models/designs.

Communication is an important and effective part of being an engineer’s ability to participate in deliberations in an office environment. All aspects of communication such as Verbal, Written and Presentation are taught by experts to hone the manner, a candidate communicates his/her ideas.
